These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Leiclara, an AI legal information service for Portuguese immigration law, operated by ALEDOALLO LLC ("Leiclara", "we", "us").

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Nature of the service — legal information, not legal advice

The information provided is based on publicly available Portuguese legislation and official guidance and is intended to help you understand the law. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified immigration lawyer, and you should not rely on it as such before taking legal action, submitting official applications, or making decisions with significant legal or financial consequences.

Always verify important information with an official source — such as AIMA, the Portuguese consulate, or a licensed lawyer — before acting on it.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Leiclara. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use Leiclara only for your own personal, non-commercial immigration queries. You may not:

• Use the service to obtain legal information on behalf of others for commercial gain or in the course of providing paid advice to third parties.
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise access to the service or its outputs.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service in bulk.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or authentication mechanisms.

4. Free tier and usage limits

Free accounts are entitled to 8 questions per calendar month. Questions reset at the start of each calendar month. Unused questions do not carry over.

Usage limits are enforced automatically. Leiclara reserves the right to adjust Free tier limits with reasonable notice.

5. Premium subscription

Premium accounts are entitled to 20 questions per 6-hour rolling window. Billing is handled by Stripe.

• Monthly plan: €29.99/month, billed monthly.
• Annual plan: €299.99/year, billed annually (equivalent to €24.99/month).
• Cancellation: you may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-month or mid-year, you retain access until the period ends.
• Price changes: we will provide at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

6. Accuracy disclaimer

Leiclara provides article-level citations to help you verify the underlying source, but it is your responsibility to confirm that the cited information is current and applicable to your specific situation.

7. Intellectual property

The Leiclara name, logo, design, and software are the property of Leiclara and may not be reproduced or used without prior written permission.

The content of answers generated by Leiclara is provided for your personal use. You may not republish, redistribute, or commercially exploit it without our written consent.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Leiclara is provided "as is" and without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate at all times.

Leiclara shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including but not limited to losses arising from reliance on information provided.

9. Service availability and modifications

Leiclara may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Where possible, we will provide reasonable advance notice of significant changes. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime, feature removal, or discontinuation.

10. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the service. Upon deletion, your data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of Portugal. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice in the service. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
